NEW LADIES BIBLE STUDY BEGINNING IN AUGUST 2010
The Ladies Bible Study announces a Ladies Book Study to begin August 17 and continue every third Tuesday thereafter. Repeatedly described as "multi-taskers," women often forget that God is at work in miraculous ways for those who put their trust in Him. We readily admit, however, that we need all the resources God puts at our disposal, including a keen awareness of His presence and His love. We believe that one of these resources is Noel Piper's much-acclaimed book, Faithful Women and their Extraordinary God, separate vignettes of five steadfast women who served God through personal struggles and hardships. Ladies Bible Study will continue the first Tuesday of each month. ~Sheila Penner, Bible Study Facilitator.
*(For ladies who wish to participate, your copy of Noel Piper's book will be provided to you at no cost.)
VBS SUCCESS! (JUNE 2010)
For the 3rd year in a row, Summit Baptist Church joined forces with 2 other churches in the Grand Prairie area for our annual VBS. This year's theme was
"Joseph's Journey to Egypt: From Prison to Palace". Over 90 children from the community participated. Summit also had 12 individuals who worked during the week, volunteering their time and talents to this great outreach effort. Others in the Summit family purchased supplies for the event. To all who gave your time, talents, and resources—THANK YOU!
In addition, Summit members donated $1,000 to help defray the costs of this week-long event! Thank you for your kind generosity and for giving back to your community in God's name!
HAITI RELIEF DONATION (FEB 2010)

We give thanks for the many blessings that God has provided us and by this gift wish to express our gratitude for the Lord's provision of mercy and grace in our lives. Please continue to pray for the victims of Haiti's tragic natural disaster and for those volunteers who are now on the ground in Haiti offering their aid.

CHRISTMAS AT WILLIAMSBURG NURSING VILLAGE!
This is our 3rd year to bring Christmas to the wonderful residents at Williamsburg Village in DeSoto. Our Summit family handed out 130 handmade bedside bags, which were designed to hold the residents books, magazines, pens, pads, etc. And as we do every year, the members of Summit made 10 dozen homemade cookies for the hard-working staff at Williamsburg. Our friends at Williamsburg have become a part of our lives and continue to be a marvelous blessing to us.
